Why Choose a Yacht Charter Holiday in Malaysia
Langkawi runs at an even slower pace to Phuket and the sometimes noisy long tails and day trippers less frequent. There is a great diversity of visiting traditional restaurants such as the hole in the wall or 5 star resorts such as the Datai.

A circumnavigation of the main island of Langkawi is easily achievable in 7 days sailing and if desired you can transit over the boarder to discover Thailand’s more remote Butang Island.

The Cruising Waters/ Conditions
As with most of Asia, winds are mostly light with calm seas. The water depth around Langkawi is relatively shallow with great holding bottoms of mud and sand.

A one way from or to Phuket (approx. 140 miles) is best done in a minimum of 10 days sailing. As with Phuket, breezes are North Easterly, November- March and South Westerly, May – October, which has more rainfall but mostly in late afternoon down pours.

Getting There
There are flights to Kuala Lumpur from most Australian capitals, with a short 1 hour domestic flight to Langkawi.

Local Cuisine
Langkawi enjoys a vast array of culinary delights made up of Chinese, Malay and Indian cuisines. The spiky durian fruit is said to have aphrodisiac qualities, although it is ugly in appearance and has a repugnant smell.
